As we roll into summer, everything social begins to migrate outdoors. Folks get together to enjoy dinners, drinkies and social gatherings while sitting on decks, on picnic blankets or under umbrellas. And summer is also when rosé makes its way out to the ice bucket and into glasses.
With its bright fruity flavour, rosé just seems to fit in seamlessly at every sunshine-fuelled occasion. From garden parties to picnics and barbecues, sunshine, rosé and the outdoors simply blend well.
So, if you’re looking to elevate any gathering this summer, serving rosé and oysters together is pretty much guaranteed to do it.
Rosé can lift oysters
Oysters are delicious ‘naked’. There’s no doubt. Many believe that eating oysters raw is truly the best way to experience their full flavour and savour their natural brininess, sweetness, and delicate texture. But rosé can help the oyster’s taste linger. Rosé can highlight the various briny flavours, and because rosé is always sippable and is sometimes bubbly, it is a terrific match for the freshness of raw oysters.
Rosé or “sunshine-in-a-glass” as it is touted can be the perfect accompaniment to oysters and a terrific way to enjoy a summer meal.
